Tips and Advice !!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous Beauty Queen’s Tips and
Advice
How to create your own and Unique Hair Regimen
Healthy Hair Doesn’t Just
Happen, you must put in the time and effort to make you hair feel and look how
you want it to. It’s a structured routine for your Hair.
You should learn how to care
for you hair in basic steps and take the time out to maintain your hair
throughout the day and week on a regular basis to keep your hair as healthy as
possible.
Hair care should consist of
some of the following:
1-Shampooing (optional)
2-Deep Conditioning
3-Protein Treatment if not
protein sensitive
4-Conditioning
5- Moisturizing
6-pre-pooing
7-And Styling Aids
8-co-washing
We
need to come up with a schedule that fits into our everyday life. When it comes
to hair, you often need to make time; taking proactive steps helps to
prevent problems down the line.
Natural Products vs Commercial Products
It all depends; each head of
hair is different. It’s really a choice that one makes when it comes down to
choosing a hair product. I’ve seen time and time again so many naturals
applying only natural products to their hair but neglect their own bodies by
what they are consuming inwardly. There has to be a balance, it does no good
when you apply all this moisture to your hair and natural products to your
hair, but won’t drink a glass of water in a day, they hydrate their hair but neglect
to hydrate their own bodies. Hydrated and healthy hair starts from within first,
then you can see the true benefits outwardly, it does no good to feed your hair
healthy and neglect your body, your temple. However I’ve seen and heard how
sometimes many of us started on a natural healthy hair regimen and then it
trickled down to a healthier, lifestyle. I believe there should be a balance in
products; too much of a good thing is not always better. There are plenty of
products that you can find that are not necessarily all natural, but that work
very well. Not all natural products work the same, likewise not all commercial
products work the same. It’s a process of elimination to see what works best
for you.
Is Natural Hair Easier? Should I Transition or Big Chop?
This is a very important step spiritually
as it is physically. This decision should not be made by impulse. It should be
a decision based on you knowing what you are getting yourself into. I don’t
know why I used to think that natural hair was easier to handle, but it’s quite
the contrary it’s more time consuming and you must establish some type of
regimen on a daily basis.
When you transition, you give
yourself enough time to decide if this is something you want to commit to. And
if you Big Chop, well let’s just say that you did your research well enough to
know what it will take to maintain your hair. When you have a TWA you can’t wait
for your hair to grow, but when your hair is longer you wished you had your
TWA. The longer your hair gets the more time you will spend on detangling,
washing, moisturizing, styling and you will use more products Vs when you have
shorter hair you spend less time on doing those things.
I love my natural hair I
wouldn’t have it no other way, I think it’s one of the best decision I’ve made, however Natural
Hair is not for everyone, you must take into consideration your lifestyle, your
workplace, school, how you are going to juggle kids, husband your home and
everyday life. You just can’t pick your Hair up in a ponytail and go when you
big chop. Now you have to spend at least 15 minutes or more on your hair a day
.So,since I transitioned and got to know my hair better that way, I would
definitely say that it’s best when you transition into your natural hair, like
that you can establish a regimen that will fit into your everyday life, and you
will start to get to know the products that your hair will like.
How To Seal In The Moisture
Some of us at some point in
our natural hair journey have heard of the word LOC Method. What is the LOC
Method. Let me make it as simple as possible.
The L is for Liquid or Leave
in
The O is for Oil
The C is for Cream / moisturizer
When you have washed your
hair, you hair has been moisturized by the water, then the Liquid Or Leave in
comes in and seals that water, Then you apply your Oil which in return seals
that Leave in, next you apply that Cream
which seal in that Oil. Once you seal in the moisture with this LOC
Method your hair shafts will close instead of being left opened and exposed.
Your Hair will feel moisturized, soft and Manageable.
The purpose of the LOC Method
is for each layer to seal in the layer before it.I use my LOC Method for my
Twists and Wash and go’s. When I apply my LOC Method with my wash an
go and my styler is going to be the gel I leave out the C (for cream) I will
only apply the Leave in, and the Oil then I will go ahead and apply my Gel as
my Styler.But
When I am using cream as my
styler for my wash and go’s I will apply
The full LOC Method. I have found this technique to work better for my hair.
And when I am doing Twists on
my hair I also apply the full LOC Method.
